Top 10 Search Engines
We list the top 10 "pure" search engines, with one exception. Yahoo is placed at the top even though it is not a search engine but a directory. It gets top spot because it is the most widely used search facility on the web, outperforming even the most popular search engines. We have not included the PORTAL facilities, AOL, MSN and Netscape Search, as these are community based and offer services to subscribers with limited facilities available to those outside the community.
